Marketing Ideas

Brochures are one of the most versatile marketing materials that you can use. They are so versatile, that people tend to think that they can put anything and everything in it. However, this is not the right way of tackling your brochure design. The lack of restraint in the part of the designers makes brochures susceptible to having a bad design. So before starting your brochure project, here are a few things that you should consider:

FOLD

Before deciding on what your brochure design should contain, first choose the brochure fold that you want to use. Every brochure fold has its own purpose and this should be the basis of your whole concept. For example, gate fold brochures are mainly used for invitations since it opens dramatically and it piques the reader’s interests.

COLOR

There is a lot to consider when using color. Should you use full-color, two-color or black and white? Should you use pantone colors, metallic inks or other specialized inks? To answer these questions, you must first think about the image your company wants to have. If you are on the conservative side, try and stay away from anything custom. Also, think about your budget. Remember that using metallic inks and other specialized inks entail an added cost.

IMAGES AND TEXT

The image and the text should always complement each other in order for the brochure design to work. Try placing a summary in your front cover with an image that best represents what you want to say. The few words will give your readers a quick idea on what to expect in the inner pages of your brochure while the image captures their imagination and raises their curiosity.

Also, you should never forget to include a call to action. Don’t leave your readers hanging and always include what you want your them to do after reading your brochure.
